Find the item and open its eBay tab
You edit a listing's title, description, item specifics, and category on the item's eBay tab in Listing Monster.
In your Items table, find the item you want to edit.
Click into the item.
Click the eBay tab.
Make a simple edit
A simple edit is a change to the Item Title, Item Condition, or an item specific like Brand or Colour that doesn't need to show up anywhere else in the listing. Use Save for these edits on the eBay tab.
On the eBay tab, click into the field you want to change.
Make your edit.
Click Save.
✅ Your edit is saved to the listing in Listing Monster.
Change the listing's category
You can't edit a listing's category directly in Listing Monster. To change the category, you run a full re-scan of the listing from the ⋮ (three dots) menu on the eBay tab.
On the eBay tab, click the ⋮ (three dots) menu at the top, next to the status badge.
Click Rescan listing.
In the "Are you sure you want to re-scan this item?" window, choose the new category from the dropdown at the top. To back out without re-scanning, click Cancel.
Click Save to confirm.
Wait while Listing Monster re-scans the whole item against its new category. The re-scan can also update the Item Title and Item Condition, not just the category.
Review the result.
Click Approve if you're happy with it.
✅ Your listing is now in its new category, with the title and condition updated to match where needed.
Expected result
✅ Your listing in Listing Monster now shows your change: an updated title, description, item specific, or category. You can come back to the item's eBay tab at any time to make further edits.
💡 Tips and best practice
If an edit needs to show up in more than one place, like changing Colour, use Rescan with amendments instead of Save so the title and description stay consistent.
There's no direct field for category on the eBay tab. To move an item into a new category, use Rescan listing from the ⋮ menu.
Rescan listing can also change the Item Title and Item Condition, so always review the result before you click Approve.
Double-check your changes before confirming. A rescan starts as soon as you confirm it.
⚠️ Troubleshooting / FAQs
I can't find a field to change my listing's category
You can't edit a listing's category directly on the eBay tab in Listing Monster. To change the category, click the ⋮ (three dots) menu next to the status badge at the top of the eBay tab, then click Rescan listing. Choose the new category from the dropdown and click Save.
Why did my title or condition change when I changed the category?
Changing the category with Rescan listing re-scans the whole item against the new category. The rescan can also update the Item Title and Item Condition to match, not just the category. Review the result before you click Approve.
I changed the Colour but my title and description still show the old colour
The title and description don't update because the edit was made with Save. Save only changes the one field you edited. To carry a change like Colour into the Item Title, Item Description and other item specifics, make the edit on the eBay tab and click Rescan with amendments instead. Review the updated listing, then click Approve.
Should I use Save or Rescan with amendments?
Use Save on the eBay tab for a simple edit to the Item Title, Item Condition, or an item specific like Brand that doesn't need to show up anywhere else in the listing. Use Rescan with amendments when the change also needs to show in the title, description or other item specifics, like changing Colour.
Can I back out of a category change before the rescan starts?
Yes. In the "Are you sure you want to re-scan this item?" window, click Cancel to close it without re-scanning. Your listing's category stays as it was.
I edited my listing but the change isn't showing on eBay
Saving an edit or approving a rescan updates the listing in Listing Monster only. It doesn't push the change out to your marketplace on its own. If your listing is already live, see Edit a live listing to send your change to eBay.
