Overview

Use this article to accept your Listing Monster invite, create your account, and connect a marketplace - everything you need to do before you can start listing items. This article uses eBay as the worked example.

What you'll do:

  1. Accept your invite and create your password

  2. Add your business details

  3. Connect a marketplace

Before you start

This guide is for the person creating the Listing Monster account. Creating the account and connecting a marketplace are one-time setup steps.

You'll need two things ready:

  • An invite email from Listing Monster in your inbox.

  • Your marketplace seller account login details (eBay, in this example), so you can connect your store once your Listing Monster account is set up.

Accept your invite and create your password

Accepting your invite is the first step in setting up Listing Monster, and it starts with an email in your inbox.

  1. Open the invite email in your inbox.

  2. Click Click here to sign up for Listing Monster now.

  3. On the Redeem your invite page, enter a password in the Create your password field.

  4. Click Create Account.

Add your business details

Adding your business details takes just a moment and helps Listing Monster set up your account correctly.

  1. On the Welcome to Listing Monster screen, enter your business name in the Business Name field.

  2. Enter your average listing volume in the Listing Volume field — for example, "100 per week".

  3. Click Continue.

Connect a marketplace

Connecting a marketplace lets Listing Monster publish listings to your store on your behalf. You can connect eBay, Shopify, or other supported marketplaces from the same screen - this article uses eBay as the worked example.

Choose your marketplace

Choosing your marketplace starts the connection process on the Connect to a marketplace to get started screen.

  1. On the Connect to a marketplace to get started screen, click the option for your marketplace - for example, Connect to eBay.

  2. In the Connect to your [marketplace] account pop-up, click Continue to [marketplace] — for eBay, this is Continue to eBay.

If you'd rather not continue, click Cancel on the pop-up to close it without connecting.

Log in to your marketplace

Logging in to your marketplace authorises Listing Monster to access your seller account.

  1. On your marketplace's sign-in page, enter your email address or username - for eBay, this is the Email or username field.

  2. Click Continue.

  3. Enter your password in the Password field.

  4. Click Sign in.

  5. If your marketplace asks you to trust the browser, click Confirm or Skip for now - either option lets you continue. (eBay shows this step; other marketplaces may not.)

Expected result

✅ You're back on the Items table in Listing Monster, with your marketplace account connected (eBay, in this example). Your account is now fully set up, and you're ready to add your first listing.

Now that you're connected, you'll also have access to the Listing Monster chat. Use it to speak to the team, who can help answer your questions as you get started. Find the chat icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.

Open your eBay connection settings

  1. Click the Settings icon at the bottom of the left-hand menu.

  2. In the Settings menu, click Connections.

  3. Find eBay in the connections list, then click Edit Connection.

Clicking Edit Connection opens a window titled "Edit EbayConnectionSettings connection," showing your eBay connection's settings and status.

Read your connection status

Your eBay connection's settings — including its eBay Marketplace ID (for example, eBay) — are listed at the top of the window. The status you're checking for is in the panel near the bottom:

  • eBay account linked — confirms Listing Monster can currently access your eBay account.

Expected result

✅ You can see your eBay connection status at a glance — whether your account is linked. Closing the window takes you back to the Connections page, with nothing changed.

💡 Tips and best practice

  • Have your marketplace login details to hand before you start the connection step, so you're not hunting for them mid-flow.

  • If your marketplace asks you to trust the browser (eBay does), that's optional — it only affects whether you're asked for extra verification the next time you sign in.

  • Check your spam or junk folder if your invite email hasn't arrived — Listing Monster sends it as soon as you're invited.

⚠ Troubleshooting / FAQs

Do I need to do this setup for every person who uses the account?

No. Creating the Listing Monster account and connecting a marketplace are one-time steps, done by the person setting up the account. Other people who use the account afterwards don't need to repeat this setup.

I haven't received my invite email — what should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first, since Listing Monster sends the invite as soon as you're added. If it still hasn't arrived, contact [email protected] for help.

Can I connect more than one marketplace?

Yes. From the same Connect to a marketplace to get started screen, you can connect eBay, Shopify, or other supported marketplaces — each one is connected separately.
