Overview
Use this article to end a live listing in Listing Monster, which takes the item off its marketplace, or to delete an item from your Items table altogether. You'd end a listing when you want an item off sale, and delete an item only when you really need to remove it from Listing Monster.
Before you start
Ending a listing in Listing Monster happens on the item's Merchandising Strategy tab. A Merchandising Strategy is the plan of steps Listing Monster runs for an item over time once it's published, such as its listing format and price.
Deleting an item happens in your Items table. You can't delete a live item in Listing Monster. End its Merchandising Strategy first, then delete it.
End a listing
Ending a listing in Listing Monster delists the item from its marketplace, ends its current Merchandising Strategy, and stops any remaining scheduled steps.
In your Items table, click into the item you want to end.
Click the Merchandising Strategy tab.
Click the red End button in the top right of the Merchandising Strategy tab.
Once you've ended its Merchandising Strategy, the item shows a grey ended status in your Items table.
Delete an item
Only delete an item in Listing Monster if you really have to. It's better to keep your product data where possible, so treat deleting as a last resort. If you want to take the item off sale, end the listing instead (see End a listing above).
Check the item has ended
Listing Monster won't let you delete an item while it's live. If the item still shows an active status in your Items table, end its Merchandising Strategy first by following End a listing above.
Delete the item from your Items table
Go to your Items table.
Tick the checkbox next to the item you want to delete. You can tick more than one to delete several items at once.
In the bottom right of the page, click Delete Items.
Expected result
✅ When you end a listing, the item comes off its marketplace, its Merchandising Strategy stops, and it shows as ended in your Items table. When you delete an ended item, it's removed from your Items table.
💡 Tips and best practice
If you just want an item off sale, ending the listing is usually all you need. It keeps the item's data in Listing Monster in case you want to relist it later.
Treat Delete Items as a last resort. The more product data you keep, the more you have to work with later.
Before you click Delete Items, check the Selected count in the bottom left of the Items table so you only delete the items you mean to.
Filter your Items table by the ended status to find the items you might want to delete in one place.

Why can't I delete a live item?
Listing Monster won't let you delete an item while it's live on a marketplace. Open the item's Merchandising Strategy tab, click the red End button, then go back to your Items table to delete it.
Should I end a listing or delete the item?
End the listing if you want to take the item off its marketplace. Only delete the item if you really need to remove it from Listing Monster, because it's better to keep your product data where possible.
